A rare Bechstein model 12n upright piano in a high gloss case

This piano dates from 1973/1974 and has been refurbished to an extremely high standard in the past

Post war Bechstein pianos are very rare, only being made in fairly small numbers each year. Unlike most German manufacturers, the Bechstein factory has always remained independently owned without any compromise in quality, so there are no 'bad periods' like one finds with Bluthner and many other German brands

This is an incredible instrument for its size. The top quality Renner action is incredibly smooth and well balanced, one of the best small upright pianos we have ever played. We have replaced the keybushings and thoroughly regulated and serviced the action to get it back to top playing condition

The strings are in perfect condition, as are the soundboard and other acoustic elements. The tuning is extremely stable, with tight tuning pins throughout

Casework in very good condition with just small signs of use in line with age and very slight colour shift from light over time

Although the piano only has two pedals, this piano does have a retrofit celeste felt rail operated by a lever under the keyboard, thus giving the same functionality as a third pedal

One of the very best pianos available at this size. Perfect for a serious pianist or recording studio who need an incredible sound and action but are limited on space
