A Bluthner Model 1 9ft concert grand piano in a black high gloss case from 2005

This piano was selected and owned by world famous concert pianist Mikhail Pletnev from new. As almost certainly the most famous Bluthner artist of modern times, Pletnev was given first choice of the very best Model 1 produced. The piano then received further fine voicing and concert prep by Pletnev personally ("Prepared by Mikhail Pletnev" stated on original invoice) taking the refinement of this piano way beyond the level of a standard production Model 1 - this is without doubt one of the finest Bluthner Model 1s ever made. Everybody who has played it has noted that this does not sound like a typical Bluthner at all. The piano has received several visible customisations to the action, as well as a bespoke regulation which makes it incredibly responsive and fluid

Maintained to the highest possible standard, the piano is in near new condition and is truly outstanding in both tone and touch. This piano is the "new" design of Model 1 and does not feature the aliquot stringing in the treble, which greatly improves the projection and clarity compared to the older Model 1s. On this piano, the aliquot is only on the very highest notes

This piano can be heard on Pletnev's recordings of Beethoven 1-5 for Deutsche Grammophon (https://youtu.be/lHxXVfrtBPQ?si=2BhD_oR1fXWT7yEA&t=324) and was also believed to be used in several legendary all Chopin recitals in Moscow, The Concertgebouw and others over a two year period. After this, the piano was purchased by a collector from Cristofori in Amsterdam and received only very light infrequent home usage, so despite being 20 years old the piano has only had a very minimal amount of actual usage - it plays and feels like a new piano
