A very rare Bechstein Model D concert grand piano (250cm length) in a rosewood case
This piano was originally sold by Harrods Knightsbridge, and has been carefully owned by a church for the last few decades
The piano is in very nice condition for its age, with no obvious structural issues and a great tone through all registers - soundboard, wrestplank, bridges, iron frame, all fine
We are lightly refurbishing the action on this piano, reshaping and voicing the hammers for optimum tone but aside from that it is in great condition and has very stable tuning
The casework is in nice condition overall, above average for its age, and has clearly been well looked after. There are some areas of wear around the corners, and on the bottom of the legs where an A frame was fitted, but aside from that the shine and colour is excellent. We have fitted new heavy duty brass castors to replace the A-frame
A fantastic piano to enjoy and play as-is, or a superb base to fully restore back to new condition and have a piano worth £30-40,000
