SAS Rogue Heroes - BBC

Pianoz.com was proud to supply multiple pianos for the hit BBC drama series SAS: Rogue Heroes. The critically acclaimed series tells the remarkable story of the formation of the Special Air Service during the Second World War and is renowned for its fast-paced action, distinctive style and larger-than-life characters. Working with the production team to source period-appropriate instruments was a fascinating project and another example of the diverse roles our pianos play beyond the concert hall and living room.

We provided around five pianos for various different sets and locations, but amongst the various scenes featuring our instruments, one stands out above all others. In a memorable confrontation between two of the show's leading characters, one of our pianos found itself directly in the firing line as a heated fight unfolded around it. What began as an elegant piece of set dressing quickly became an unwilling participant in the action, taking the brunt of the impact as punches were thrown and tempers flared. While it may not have been the gentlest treatment a piano has ever received, it certainly made for a dramatic and unforgettable moment on screen.
