This piano has also had an incredibly rare narrow keyboard conversion, reducing the octave span to 6 inches from the typical 6.5 inches. This is incredibly useful for advancing younger pianists or adult pianists with smaller hands, for whom it is impossible to play a lot of advanced repertoire which requires spans of an octave or more. Although 0.5 inches doesn't sound like a lot, the difference is extremely noticeable when playing. The narrow keyboard allows proper technique to be learned without putting unnecessary strain on the hands or having to make incorrect modifications to the music such as missing notes or spreading chords

To do a keyboard conversion of this nature is extremely expensive and would cost in the region of £7,500-10,000. We have never seen a U1 or U3 Yamaha with a reduced span keyboard before, so this is a incredibly rare opportunity
