These pianos are essentially a Yamaha U1 but handmade in the UK in the Yamaha owned Kemble factory to arguably higher standards than the Japanese models, and voiced to a more 'european' sounding tone compared to the brighter Asian made pianos. At the same time, the same factory were making pianos with the 'Yamaha U1' label on also, but these pianos are quite a lot more expensive for the same year and condition despite being essentially the same pianos inside
